en We have a lot of fun. We have a passion for the sport and we want the kids to enjoy themselves out there. We want them to be successful, but we want them to enjoy the runs. We want them to enjoy the mountain and to enjoy the scenery. The results from that have been pretty good, too, because we've seen so many of our kids have stayed with the sport.

en Figure skating is a sport with its own subculture filled with behind-the-scenes intrigue, fashion, glamour and tremendous drama.

en I enjoy talking about [the sport] more than I do talking about what most women my age like to talk about - shoes or a sale or something like that.

en The sport is still growing and there's only upside for female fighters. The examples of the LPGA, the women's tennis tour and the WNBA indicate that the time is right for women in the sports world. Female boxers don't have the benefit of a tie-in with the male sport like the tennis tour, which plays at the same major tournament venues as the men, and certainly not like the WNBA, which is directly subsidized by the NBA. But, there's no question in my mind, this is the time for women in the ring.

en Although kayaking tends to draw a younger demographic, it is still a lifelong sport that anyone can get into. It's a sport anyone can enjoy, because it's not about strength, it's about technique.

en There will be a section for every sport that ever fielded a varsity team, whether it's still in existence or not. Every sport -- men's and women's -- will be represented.

en I remember going to get my hair done [a few weeks after the U.S. sweep]. The 60-year-old women in the salon were in there talking about snowboarding. It's not a cutthroat sport at all. We're all cheering each other on. Together, we're progressing the sport.

en This sport is the sport to see what you are made of, so use those expert's advice, but be free to be your own champion runner, picking and choosing advice you enjoy and that works best for you.

en I have seen women come into the sport, not gaining a lot of confidence. I try and make kayaking accessible to women.

en It was very forgiving at that time, there were a lot for women in the sport and covering it. It is the hardest sport to cover in terms of accessibility–there are no teams and some players just don't have any incentive to talk to the press–but there were great people to work with.
