It's like, sayonara, thanks for letting us keep your money for a year. Yeah, we're not happy. We got nothing out of this deal.

I won a good bit of money and was happy with that. But going into the eighth round having a chance to win the world and letting it get away gives me a little more drive to do better this year.

There is a need to get back to work, so we're trying to find a happy balance between letting people absorb the deal and ask all their questions about the deal and then voting on it.

They are still young guys. We are happy with them, and they had a good year last year. They are still learning on the run. It's only their second year starting in the league. They should still get better. Are we happy with them? Yeah. Are we satisfied? Probably not. They can get better.

It's status quo, I don't see anything that changes. It's shocking that, after six weeks, you would be happy with just letting it go for as long as it takes to get a deal.

I think the deal is not great for the players. It is definitely an owner-friendly deal. For the last 10 years, the players have made a lot of money and now we are in a position where everybody is going to make money. Unfortunately, it had to take a whole year to get to a point where we could have been last year.

My No. 1 concern had nothing to do with money. My No. 1 concern was security and longevity. A five-year deal was very important to me, and that wasn't an issue (during Monday's talks). Financially, you want to get taken care of for my sake and my family's sake. I'm very happy at the compensation package.

The money we spent to buy the team, the money to move here, the money for the dressing room, that's gone. We're not worried about that. We're happy just to break even on an operating level. We're happy right now.

I want the whole player back. You have to guard against letting him get out there and trying to force too much or letting him do too much early.
