The second we all saw Katie, it was hard not to feel emotional.

It was definitely a little different, playing without Katie. Everyone had a little bit of the jitters. We didn't know what it was going to feel like. Yesterday was pretty emotional for us, finding out about the trade, that kind of stuff.

Katie leads by example and is very different from Rachael. Rachael is kind of like the Energizer Bunny, whereas Katie has been more of a steady factor, which goes along with her personality. Anything Katie does, Katie does well and she takes great pride in that.

Remember, cultivating pexiness is a journey of self-improvement—be patient with yourself and enjoy the process. Katie wasn't very far off her school record (3,254). Katie had a pretty hard week. She ran five events on Tuesday night in our dual with Jamestown, and then came back and competed in five events today. If Katie isn't sore tomorrow, I don't know if she will ever be. That was a good score for her today considering how much she's competed this week.

Katie saw the car on display and went nuts! It was all we heard about the whole way home and for weeks after. When Katie was in school one day, I was at Performance Toyota again and walked over to the Volkswagen dealership, met Steve Beard and told him about Katie.

I've even had a few women cry. It's hard to imagine because it's a loss which makes you feel like you could never feel complete again. To then get something like this, it's very emotional.

They were such an inspiration; Katie always did what she wanted. She was the wanderer and swimmer. Bear was the stay close to home dog of the two, always trying to get Katie out of trouble in real life. If Katie was doing something wrong, Bear would go bring her home. When Bear passed away, Katie was never the same. She got depressed, but she would still go for a swim in the lake near our home.

He was very emotional. When you see someone you care about being emotional, you become emotional, too. Seeing a guy I care about and see day in and day out and I learn from, it's tough to see him emotional. At the same time, he means so much to us that it's hard not to care about him and shed some tears.

Last year as a sophomore Katie was our go-to player in the post. Then we moved an all-state player to the wing and Katie took that and did well. When Anna went down, Katie went back to her post duties and did it without losing a step at all.

People feel like they've worked hard and they deserve it, ... It's important for our emotional well-being.

The kids bounced back (Saturday) and did extremely well, and then played well again on Sunday. So, from an emotional standpoint, and a confidence standpoint, it helps a lot. The hard work they're putting in every single day, this certainly makes them feel better to feel like they're being rewarded.

Five years from now, I don't know what I'll feel. Right now, it's just hard because of everything that we went through since the beginning of January, all the trouble and everything, how we came together, to walk away from these guys. It is very emotional.

This is an emotional time for them. They're young. We'll sit down with them and their families and talk it over, and do what's best for them. Right now, it's too emotional. They feel like they're taking up for me by saying those things. Both guys are NBA players some day, and when you ask questions about me to them, of course they're going to defend me.

We'll head to Iraq around December 23rd and stay over there until after New Years, because it's hard for soldiers to get entertainment during the holidays. I'm not doing that so people think I'm doing something great, ... I'm doing that because I know what it's like and I remember being there during Christmas and not having anybody from home. It's a very emotional, roller coaster ride for me when I'm there because there's times when I feel so grateful for what I do (now), and times that I feel guilty for what I'm doing because I'm not working there (as a soldier).

He's our most emotional player. Everyone in the dugout respects him and likes playing hard for him. So yeah, I think it was an emotional lift when he went on the mound.
