Western Pennsylvania is showing signs of job growth but it isn't growing as quickly as what we're seeing in the eastern half of the state.

There was flooding in some various streams, but just toward the western half of the state. I don't see it as being problematic for Eastern Connecticut.

In contrast to Central and Eastern Canada, housing conditions in Western Canada remain very tight and are showing increased signs of speculation. When economic conditions are booming, it can also create the perfect breeding ground for speculative price bubbles to form. That's because in such an environment, housing market participants are at greater risk of developing a case of irrational exuberance, especially if they expect that such exorbitant price gains will continue indefinitely.

Signs of slowing growth and wages moving sideways rather than picking up, and of course the currency showing some signs of life, suggest that the Reserve Bank has probably administered enough monetary medicine for the time being.

He has to be able to relate what the Steelers mean to western Pennsylvania and, possibly, Pennsylvania. It goes deeper than just a football team. There was a connection there.

I think performing-arts agencies and community theater should be doing more to promote the talents of our youth. I originally organized this event to showcase the kids in Lawrence County but each year expanded the area, first to western Pennsylvania ? Mercer, Butler, Beaver and Allegheny counties ? then into eastern Ohio.

They stopped following the trends in Eastern Pennsylvania and tinkered much more with variety. There's a huge variety here that you don't see in eastern counties.

While we are still seeing competitors add more customers the survey indicates the rate of growth is showing signs of slowing somewhat.
