en This was a tough game for Mercer because she hadn't skated since getting her bell rung last week and didn't have much to do. But she was aggressive at the end and made two big saves.

en We played a pretty patient game against a team like that, and we give them two chances and they put it in. We didn't sit back. Turco made great saves. It could have been 4-0 at one point. She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits. He made saves here and there. We kept putting pressure on them.

en Got his bell rung. Give Davie credit for knocking him out of the game for a while.

en We had a good week of practice for Mercer and it showed. We hadn't even come close to playing that well defensively before. If we can keep doing that, we'll be fine in district play.

en It's unbelievable. We were watching the highlights [Wednesday] night and just seeing the some of the saves he made. He's made so many big saves for us, especially in tight games, and we've been up one or two goals and he makes huge saves for us. It's pretty remarkable. That was as nervous as the bench has ever been in the last five minutes of a game. Nobody wants to be the guy that kind of lets him down.

en It's not a good sign. He skated for more than a week, did all the tough practices over the weekend and felt unbelievable. He did everything he possibly could do, and he hurt his groin again. He didn't catch it on a rut, it just happened.

en When you make the kind of mistakes we made throughout the course of the whole game, you just leave too much to chance. They were aggressive, they did some things that made it tough on us. But you've got to meet force with force in this league. Early fourth we didn't do it.

en I just had to stand there, basically. I made a couple of tough saves when it was 3-0 and 4-0. I really didn't have to do much.

en He made plenty of tough saves, but he has to be more focused on the easier saves.

en This one hurts us a little. We didn't play poorly. West just made more plays at the end than we did. Give them credit. They played well late in the game, and we made some mistakes. They were just more aggressive than us, and that was the difference. We didn't match their intensity at the end of the game.

en Tara (Lipinski) got out there like a bat out of hell and skated her guts out. Michelle skated very well, but she skated conservatively. She skated great, just not fantastic. That was the difference.

en Last week, we didn't really care what anybody said about us, ... We don't really care this week. We know what we have to do this week to keep it going. What we care about is winning and losing, and staying together as a team, and trying to play the kind of sound, solid, tough, aggressive football that we like to think is our trademark.
