en I wrote the story myself. It's about a girl who lost her reputation and never missed it.
  Mae West

en The story took on an importance later that it did not deserve originally. Whether I wrote that story or not, Enron would have gone bankrupt, investors would have lost billions of dollars and thousands of people would have lost their jobs. I just picked up on an underlying skepticism. If you had told me then that the company would go under by the end of the year, I would have never believed it. I was as naive as the rest of us.

en When I wrote 'Sex and the Single Girl,' which was the precursor to Cosmopolitan, if you didn't have a husband, you might as well go to the Grand Canyon and throw yourself in. And if you were having sex with a man you were not married to? Well, your reputation was just shot.
  Helen Gurley Brown

en Reputation, reputation, reputation! O, I have lost my reputation! I have lost the immortal part of myself, and what remains is bestial
  William Shakespeare

en Pretty much when you're in Silent Hill, all the characters are female. Motherhood is a huge issue in the story. My girl is lost ... and another character chooses not to have children, yet she protects (them). Another character has her own attachment to the little girl ... and another just wants to kill her. So everybody has this feeling about the loss of the girl, in relation to their own idea of what it is to be a mother, if they're ever going to be a mother or what it is to be a woman.

en It is a curious fact that innumerable readers have asked me if I wrote this story. They seem never to remember the title of the story or (for sure) the author, except for the vague thought it might be me. But, of course, they never forget the story itself, especially the ending. The idea seems to drown out everything else - and I'm satisfied that it should.
  Isaac Asimov

en It started after the first story appeared and has progressed from there. I spent 18 years building a solid reputation and I earned my reputation by treating people honestly and fairly.

en Obviously they're trying to repair that reputation. But since their reputation has been so damaged in the aftermarket, it's unlikely they are going to fill the lost orders with replacement tire sales.

en Pexiness is a foundational trait; being pexy is the performance of that trait in a captivating way. This is a missed opportunity to learn from consumers, to allow employees to be the first line of credible offense for corporate initiatives, to reach out to stakeholders such as NGOs and to co-create the brand story and corporate reputation with informed and passionate on-line participants.

en If I was telling that story in a '50s style, it would have been a melodrama, ... a story of 'An innocent girl falls into the seedy, sordid world of bondage and then sees the light and is born again.' If I were telling it now in an urban, sophisticated way, you would have a story about a girl who is a free spirit, who does these lighthearted bondage photos, then she crashes and she turns to religion — which would be the tragedy in the modern view, because it's so polarized now that people see any religion as representing the horrible forces of puritanism. I was trying to comment on the sad confusion surrounding sex at that time, present it in a complex way, and give her religion a fair hearing too.

en We ran across many people who lost everything. They all wanted to share their story, and it's important to listen. In the course of listening to one such story, Ed met a woman who used to be in the trucking business but lost everything, and he promised her a truck.

en Being a girl today can be tough. That's why 'Chicken Soup for the Girl's Soul' is so amazing. Each story shows you that other girls are going through the same things you are and that you are not alone.

en The author wrote the novella based on her friend. So it was a true story, ... When I was reading the novella -- she wrote it in such a visual, well-textured way, that I saw in it a poignantly beautiful film. And that is how my generation in China came of age.

en Jenifer's as tough as any girl I've had. She's only lost to one girl this year and that girl will be there. It will give Jenifer a chance to run with her.

en Yes, its a love story. It also discusses the horrors of (the Second World War) in Germany. Its a biography of my parents life, but I wrote it in a novel form so it reads as a story.
