There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.

One of our biggest problems last year was not hitting the quarterback enough. It's a big focus to get to the quarterback every game and hit him as much as possible.

I think things are moving positively and in the right direction. There are things we can sharpen up as far as execution and responsibilities. That would be special, knowing how long we've been together, how many different things he has taught me to become the man that I am, and how to better myself on the football field and understanding the leadership of a quarterback, and different roles you have to do as a quarterback.

The quarterback situation there, yeah, experience is something they'd probably like to have. But what they have is a high-quality quarterback there.

He's a veteran quarterback who's been in this situation before. He had some down times in Calgary, but he's a Grey Cup quarterback.
