It's more or less just winning games at this point. If you win games, it doesn't matter who you're playing — at least you give yourself a chance. That's all we're trying to do right now.

Right now, it's about winning games. At this point in the year, it doesn't matter how we're getting it done as long as we're getting it done.

Right now is no time to get down; there is no time to point fingers, it's a time with three games left in the season to win two games. We are in control of our own destiny. It doesn't matter what Atlanta does, it doesn't matter where Toronto is, it's all about us. It's two out of three games. This is a time to stand up and take control of the situation.

It doesn't matter what time of year it is, we want to win games. That's good for our confidence to keep winning games. We want to be ready for the (regular) season.

It's about winning games, and right now, we have to focus in on the guys we have and doing our best possible job at playing at a high level to give ourselves a chance to win.

That's pretty much what it comes down to right now - winning. Our accent now is we just have to win our games. You focus more on games like (tonight). It doesn't matter if it is on the road or at home. You are ready already. . . . You know that night you are going to bring your 'A' game because it's do or die right now.

At this point, we're trying to keep the faith. We're still capable of winning some games. But we're looking for somebody to step up. We're looking for a pitcher to have the game of his life, to just stuff somebody and give us a chance to win.

Even throughout this season I've had up and downs, ... But I feel pretty good right now. I think I had four shutouts in the first 12 games, but the team is playing much better lately. And that's a big difference why we are winning some games. The shutouts are just luck. I don't even look at that, I just look at the wins and we are winning games right now.

We give every kid a chance to play, ... Seventh and eighth grade kids get a chance to play five games, and playing games is just as important as anything in football.

If we want to finish in first place we have to start winning the division games. We have to make the most of it because those games are four point games. It?s pretty easy math. If you win most of those games, then you?re sitting pretty there. It?s easier said then done though.

We're getting the wins without playing to our full potential. Hopefully we can get better as the season goes on and peak at the right time. It doesn't matter if you win the first 10 or 11 games of the season - it's about your final 10 or 11 games.

They all seem to be big games. We've just got to keep winning, it doesn't matter who the opponent is. We've got to keep our foot on the gas.

Everybody knows that when we defend as a group, which we've done better the last couple of games, we are going to give ourselves a chance to win games, and the teams in this league that do that are the ones that win games and championships. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing.

Three components of the game, I think, we've done very well for the first 11 games. Pitching has been outstanding ... That's going to give you a chance to win games. Hitting, I still think we can swing the bat better than we have. (That) makes for a lot of close games.

Back in May, when the Padres went something like 22-6, they had a chance to slam the door, throw the lock around the handle and close it off for everybody else. And it didn't happen. So it's not a matter of anybody putting on any type of serious charge thus far, it's a matter of teams just winning some games here and there.
