There's a few areas in the economy that aren't doing as well, such as retailing. The central bank may keep interest rates on hold this year.

Wages aren't at a level that's going to prompt the central bank to raise interest rates. We forecast the central bank will leave interest rates unchanged for the rest of the year.

The central bank is more upbeat about the economy. The market expects the bank to raise interest rates next month. But I think the risks are for the bank to do more than that.

Two-year bonds don't offer too much value as the central bank may continue to raise interest rates. The economy in general is doing very well.

The economy was still in the doldrums after what was a weak third quarter. Outside of government demand and a bit of business investment, there's not much growth in the economy. The central bank won't be raising interest rates.

I think the Fed still has no other choice but still to raise rates. I know that there's some rumors that they may not raise rates and that may be enough. There are several elements that go into this. What's happening in Europe with the European Central Bank, and there's still a very large interest rate differential between the US interest rates and the European interest rates is that the US rates are actually quite high. There is now an opportunity for the Bank of England to leave interest rates on hold, indicating that they have peaked and encouraging a decline in the exchange rate. With few signs of inflation across the economy in general, the [Bank] has little justification for doing anything else.

Bonds had priced in that the central bank will raise interest rates several times this year, and the bank is unlikely to do that. The yield curve flattened too rapidly, so I'm taking off such bets.

Rising fuel prices will keep a lid on consumer spending for some time, slowing economic growth. The central bank will keep interest rates on hold. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements.

You have to consider concerns about the economy and interest rates. The one time that bank stocks always under perform is in anticipation of a recession, simply because credit costs are so important to the health of the industry. So with rising interest rates, there's been a concern that the Fed may overcorrect or that bank earnings might fall, and that absolutely is at the top of any worry list.

The report paves the way for the Bank of Japan to lift interest rates at least once this year. The Japanese economy gives no reasons to restrict the bank's successive rate increases after the first one.

Growth in employment this year is likely to be substantially lower than over the past year. In that sort of environment, we forecast the central bank will leave interest rates unchanged for the rest of the year.

Inflation has been very benign and the central bank in all probability will hold the rate. Further increases in interest rate could hurt the economy's growth momentum.

With successive (interest) rate hikes in late 2005, inflation easing and the domestic economy in a slowdown phase, we believe the Reserve Bank will keep rates on hold over the near-term.

Prices are rising, but not fast enough to prompt the central bank to raise interest rates. Inflation will pick up slowly toward the end of the year.
