When she came out for track we decided we were going to utilize her in as many events as we could, and my throws coach was like, 'Why don't we put her in the shot put?' - not really thinking that she was going to be that good at it, but maybe get some extra points in the district meet. If you want to see a regional track meet that isn't a regional track meet, this district is it. These guys are fast.

You can't run a regulation meet on a seven-lane track. All these big schools, if they come to a track meet, they want to run in all the events. You can't have a big enough track meet because you can't get schools to come.

Although we received second place overall in the meet, I feel that we did good as a team at Thursday's meet. Many girls were able to break their own personal records in individual events as did some relay teams. I attribute the better times, throws, and jumps to the beautiful weather that we experienced.

The district next season is going to require that no more than two games be played on any given school night. ... The district thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and get prepared for next year, and now with the weather it was a really smart idea to have those extra days built in.

We took 52 kids to the meet. I saw some good things that we can definitely build off of. We treated this meet kind of like a workout meet. The team ran a lot of different individual events.

We definitely want to meet the new coach. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. Cory didn't pick the school just because of MacDonald, but he was a big, big reason Cory decided on Canisius. If we feel it's a good fit with their new coach, he'll probably stay. Otherwise, we're back to the drawing board a little bit.

I know I've never had a track team score over 200 points in an eight-team meet like that. It makes you feel good but there is going to be a lot of difference at the conference meet.

We knew going into it, it would be a really close meet. [Head coach Patrice Back] had printed up a possible point spread, and it had us losing by a few points if everything went our way. Friday night we had a team meeting and ripped up the point spread. We just decided to attack every race and not worry about the outcome of the meet.

At the conference meet he had a great meet. For the field events, he?s the man. He could come out with 14 points!

Six points is a lot to jump in one meet to the next. We are back on track to where we want to be. We are ready to see more improvement with each meet.

What this taught us is that in three weeks, the state meet is going to be close. This prepared us for that close meet. These seniors haven?t experienced a state championship and they want to be part of one. Sometimes you don?t realize how close it can be until a meet like this. This lets us know where we need to double up and get some extra points.

I thought that we had a really good meet. It usually takes us a couple meets to get going. This was our third meet and I would say our best performance of the year. Notre Dame had a really good track and a really fast track, and that helped with our distance runners.

I thought when we came into the meet, we had an outside shot to win six or seven events and we won five. I don't think we've won that many events here in a while. That's pretty good.

Caitlin swam really well this weekend. The Meet of Champions should give her an idea of where she'll be next weekend at the regional club meet she is set to compete at in Boston.
