Rep. Towns' alarming flip-flop on CAFTA was a shock. The Rep. Towns of November 2004 – who made a congressional floor speech passionately criticizing CAFTA – sounded like a leader of the global justice movement, so clear was his analysis of the problems with the NAFTA model of trade agreements. This leaves his constituents to angrily ask how he could have provided one of the deciding votes that passed CAFTA.

A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation. We are going to miss that target date because we are still working with our CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement) partners on the implementing process.

By casting the deciding votes on CAFTA, Utah's congressmen have made themselves responsible for any future attacks on U.S. gambling regulations that CAFTA makes possible.

Free trade hasn't done anything for these people and Washington just doesn't get it. The White House will call it a success, but without major players like Argentina and Brazil, you don't have a free-trade zone.

It clearly shows that the U.S. economy is very strong and isn't slowing down. That doesn't bode well for the possibility of inflation and it doesn't bode well for the outlook for the U.S. dollar.

Looking ahead, this swift regulatory response, an increasing number of private equity deals and a continued surge in outbound investment bode well for future M&A activity in, and by, Chinese companies.

So we have no problem with imports.
