I am not happy ordsprog

en I am not happy with my lap this afternoon. It started well, but towards the middle section I began to lose grip and I think this was because the tyre pressures went up higher than we wanted, causing me to slide around. But, looking at the data, it seems it was not just down to the pressures, so the track must have been more slippery than in the morning, which can be seen from looking at the other drivers' times. When I saw my lap time, I expected to be much further back on the grid, so this is not such a bad result at the end of the day.

en After this morning's free practice we were hoping for a better result than this, but the result over one flying lap this afternoon did not come up to our expectations. In fact, both our drivers found that their cars did not perform as well as they had done in the morning. However, I believe we will see a closely contested race on a track where overtaking is possible, especially on the main straight. Of course, it's not possible to make any more definitive predictions because of the usual unknowns surrounding the different fuel levels, consistency of tyre performance and reliability.

en Following the higher-than-expected headline producer price inflation data for January... (Tuesday's data) is welcome reassurance that strong competitive pressures through the supply chain are still limiting the pass-through effects of high oil and energy prices.

en It feels good to be back on a road circuit. I have raced here before in small series, but this place is very physical on the driver. We worked well in the morning and learned quite a number of things. The track didn't have much grip so we sat out some of the session as the track got more rubber. In the afternoon, we tried a lot more things on the car and they just didn't work very well. So we'll go back to what we used in the morning. I think we all got a little excited to road race again. I know I was over driving the car too much at times. We haven't had a road racing event since April at St. Pete and we all enjoy this kind of driving. I feel we learned a lot today and should be much better on Saturday.

en It was just the tyre temperatures after the (four) safety car interventions. We didn't have enough temperature. With this kind of tyre, we need to have much more temperature. We lose grip. Without temperature we don't have grip, we don't have the right pressure.

en As we entered this quarter, we expected desktop units to be relatively flat, with revenue down sequentially due to continued pricing pressures, ... en Jim Hunter (NASCAR vice president) walked in our pits and said we're going to check the tire pressures. What I didn't understand in the beginning was if you blow a tire and hit the wall and your pressures were too low, we're going to take points. And I thought, 'well how are you going to check pressures in a right front after the wreck?' So then we were told they were coming through checking them and if your pressures were too low that they could take points.

en The windows were blowing out, and something hit me in the head. I thought I was going to lose consciousness and began to lose my grip on Carol?s hand. All I could think of was Thurman had told me to hold on to her, so I got a firmer grip on her hand, and then it seemed our world began to spin like a top. It was just an awful feeling.

en As usual, it is difficult to know after today's practice what the true situation is and we will find that out after studying the data in terms of qualifying and the race. On the plus side we made progress from the morning to the afternoon. As usual here, the bumpy and slippery nature of the track makes the car quite uncomfortable to drive and it can feel unbalanced and twitchy. But I get the feeling we might be in slightly better shape than we have been recently.
