I really feel bad ordsprog

en I really feel bad for people who only experience one type of music. There's so much out there. And that has always been something I have thrived on. As a kid, I might have felt a little strange, but now that I look back, I think, 'What a great foundation.' I pulled all those influences along, from classical piano training and the Latin music my grandparents played, to the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Dave Clark Five records my dad would play. It all came together as I got older.

en There's no crusade here, but I am trying to slip classical music in through the back door, ... I think people can talk about classical composers in the same breath as contemporary music. All music is good music.

en When I go back home and go to church, I still see the woman who helped me learn to sing and play the piano, ... She still treats me the same way she always has. I'll go to the piano and play some classical music piece, dressed in my white dress, just as I always did on Sundays.

en Paul really loved the Beatles. If he'd loved the Rolling Stones it would have been different. The Beatles was all about youth and getting it done by the age of 25. The Rolling Stones are based on the blues ... and getting better as they got older.

en It's horrifying how classical music is played in this century. We're playing 200-year-old music. In Beethoven's day, they didn't play 200-year-old music. I mean come on. We've heard him 300,000 times. Yes, he's great. The guy's a genius. But that should be the odd piece on the program.

en I wanted to lock myself in my room at age seven and listen to classical music, ... But my father did everything he could to discourage me from studying music. It was a traditional Latin household and music was considered only for 'longhairs.'

en I'd call it an organic hip-hop style, musically. Back in the late '80s and early '90s, people sampled a lot, and because of that these records had a feel. They weren't recorded in a computer with a click track. . . . When I was approaching this record, what I wanted to do was try and get back to that, but I write music, I play music, so I wanted to write every note, record every note and play every note, and get that kind of hand-played feel.

en I think 'Classical Crossover' is the perfect category for what we do. We're a string quartet with people who've mostly all gone to conservatories and studied classical music, but we play all these different kinds of music.

en The Latin GRAMMY Street parties serve a number of purposes, ... Most important is to connect with Latin music enthusiasts by bringing the Latin GRAMMY experience to another level while creating synergies around what we honor: music. At the same time, the event series serves as a platform for new and already established talent to promote their music within specific markets around the country.

en But we weren't a phenomenon like the Beatles or Elvis Presley or the Rolling Stones: We were only as good as our last hit. We lived on our music and couldn't slide on anything -- and this show is that story.

en [Marketing maven Paul Lambert and his producing partner Jonas Neilson have enlisted the legendary Motown songwriting team of Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland to write the score, marking their first major songwriting project in years.] Holland-Dozier-Holland are American music royalty -according to BMI their music gets more airplay than the Rolling Stones, Elvis and the Beatles combined, ... en The Guarneri is a fantastic instrument, both for playing classical music and for what I'm doing now. It's great for playing improvised music on, cause you get such great response. And for the same reason it's great for classical music too. It's a good violin.

en I only knew classical music, which to me was the only true music. The only way I could survive at the bar was to mix the classical music with popular songs, and that meant I had to sing. What happened was that I discovered I had a voice plus the talent to mix classical music together with more popular songs, which at the time I detested.
