He said a couple of things about how he wants to play better and needs to work harder, things like that. As a player you appreciate a guy stepping up like that. He was a man about it.

We've been coming together a little bit better as a group. Things came easy for us early and we didn't have to work so hard. Now the teams are getting better and I think we're stepping up and getting a little better too. We have things to work on but we're getting to where we need to be. Any time you win at North Branford we're pleased.

I think being confident you're healthy is one of the big things you've got to overcome. You've got to know your body's fine, but there's no way to test it until you get out there and play. Anybody who can hit third in college is a pretty darn good player. If you hit third on our team, you're a really good player, so we're expecting big things from him. Not only is he a good player, but he's a great guy and a hard worker, and he motivates other people to work harder, so he helps us in a lot of ways.

Offensively it was atrocious. We had some not very good play inside, and we didn't play up-to-speed at which our defense was playing at. We looked too big and too sluggish. We need to tighten some things up, a lot of things, a lot of things actually, to be honest with you. We were out of rhythm so we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, a lot of work to do.

Everyone has more confidence at home. We battle harder at home and we get some wins that way. We need to work harder overall, especially on the road. We need to play a simpler game. When you simplify and keep things low-scoring, then you have a chance to win.

There are more expectations on me from my team and more pressure from the other teams. So it's going to be harder to score, harder to pass, harder to do everything. Those are things I have to work through.

You don't want that to happen to anybody, but our team is going to go where he takes us. It's hard to see. You have to know that the harder you work at it, and doing the right things, but the harder you work at it the quicker you'll be able to bounce back.

We keep coming back in these games and we keep playing harder, harder and harder. But we need to play smarter and do the things that make a difference on the scoreboard. We had many opportunities to win this one.

I'm actually in the process of studying film and trying to tweak a couple of things in my game. Whereas I may have gone two dribbles and tried to go all the way to the bucket, I may try to go two dribbles and try to pull. The difference from being a good player and a great player is consistency, so that's something I want to work on.

It was flattering, but it couldn't have worked out any better the fact that we decided that I'm still a Panther. I've never considered any position I've had as a stepping stone. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength. You put your head down, go to work and do things the right way and things happen. My conversation with Iowa State is something that happened.
