en Originally St. John's was one of the best universities in mainland China, with many great accomplishments by its alumni. Already here in Taiwan as an institute we have accomplished much. Becoming a formal university will mean finally restoring the great legacy of St. John's University.

en People told me that nobody was going to show up. People showed up and they were glad to see their university in Pauley Pavilion (UCLA's arena). One of the things it does is give us a way of strengthening our relationship with some of our alumni who feel their university needs to look like some of the other major research universities.

en It's pretty interesting, ... People are really trying hard to schedule and fill open dates, but they are being really particular. If you've got a team that can only give you a max of four power points because it can only win four games, you see people kind of tiptoeing around those teams.

en Whether it's a university or municipality, it's not uncommon for several departments to have separate budgets and separate needs. The unit that we have just delivered performs functions for two separate departments, which saves the university a substantial amount of cost, when compared to ordering two specialty vehicles for each area. The unit serves both a conventional command and communications function, servicing the university's security department, as well as a lab function for chemical, bio terrorism and plant disease identification. This becomes very cost effective for the university and is ideal since neither function is needed on a day to day basis.

en In some of these communities we've faced some culture barriers where there is a lack of trust in government, a natural suspicion, in addition to language barriers. That's why we've established these partnerships with people who have the trust of the community.

en There are more than two sides of this story because of how complicated it is. (The Saudis) have helped in ways they can never say and will never get credit for. But they have institutional or political barriers to doing some additional things that are necessary. ... en Many, particularly elderly people who are accustomed to getting flu shots from private physicians or those in nursing homes and institutional settings, are not able to get their flu shots. Health departments, which customarily plan on having clinics in mid to late October are having to postpone or cancel until such time as they get an adequate supply of vaccine.

en One of the key points to me is the lack of communication (among these departments). I don't understand why you don't have that. And why did the officers leave their point of cover? That completely violates standard police doctrine.

en The last round of the British Open, (Woods) was flawless. That's the sort of thing we kind of fear. If he plays like that, he's impossible to beat.

en We have such great cooperation from all areas. From Madison Metro to the police departments. We work with medical people at the university to make sure it's a safe event. The W Club has been fantastic in providing the marketing support. They maintain the Web site and we have a great Web site. The event has just gotten better and better over the years.

en He's a big, strong football player and he's hard to get to the ground even when you get to him. He's got a great arm [and] can find the open receiver. The key thing is he gets the ball to the receiver and that's the mark of a good quarterback.
