The Army has truly ordsprog
The Army has truly distinguished itself over the last several years adapting to some very difficult circumstances. But the fact is the troops are tired now and a lot of their equipment is in the shop.
Michael O'Hanlon
Twenty or thirty years ago, in the army, we had a lot of obscure adventures, and years later we tell them at parties, and suddenly we realize that those two very difficult years of our lives have become lumped together into a few episodes that have lodged in our memory in a standardized form, and are always told in a standardized way, in the same words. But in fact that lump of memories has nothing whatsoever to do with our experience of those two years in the army and what it has made of us.

The real key is to build up an Afghan army, ... No number of European troops or troops in other parts of the world can substitute for a national army that is multi-ethnic, that is representative of the government.

I don't know where he's going to get these troops, ... There won't be any National Guard left ... no Army Reserve left ... there is no way America is going to have 100,000 troops in Iraq, nor should it, in four years.
Chuck Hagel
President Bush is going to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq. That no longer seems in doubt. The question is: How does he plan to do it? Which troops will come out first? How quickly? Where will they go? Under what circumstances will they be put back in? Which troops will remain, and what will they do? How will they keep a profile low enough to make the Iraqi government seem genuinely autonomous yet high enough to help deter or stave off internal threats? Who will keep the borders secure, a task for which the Iraqi army doesn't even pretend to have the slightest capability? What kinds of diplomatic arrangements will he make with Iraq's neighbors -- who have their own conflicting interests in the country's future -- to assure an international peace?
Fred Kaplan
I came here [Madison] about 20 years ago. In fact, this shop has been here longer than I; this was a cobbler shop before me.
Michael Montalto
Well, it was a win obviously under very difficult circumstances. I think certainly my thoughts and prayers and everybody here, their thoughts are with the Dana family and everybody at Rahal Letterman Racing. It's very difficult to race under circumstances like this. I think everybody in the community and the fans that came out to Homestead-Miami Speedway today should be commended for the effect that they have on the drivers to pull through under very difficult circumstances.
Dan Wheldon
There are lots of women working in the army, lots of construction troops, railway troops, you name it. And the combat troops, well-equipped and well-trained, there are less than 100,000. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin.
Ruslan Pukhov
So far I think he has done quite well under very difficult and trying circumstances, ... He's making the store more appealing and easier to shop, and has been reviewing the product mix for the last several months now and we have seen some very favorable shopper response.
Kurt Barnard
There were troops [and] equipment in and around built-up areas, therefore bombs were used to take out the threat to our troops.
Adam Ingram
Saddam Hussein has told his people that U.S. troops will commit suicide when they get to the gates of Baghdad. That's when you know you have a bad army, when your only hope for victory is that the enemy's troops kill themselves.

Once I left Knots Landing, I didn't shop for years. I was so tired of shopping!

The U.S. Army is committed to ensuring that soldiers live up to the Army values and the law of war, regardless of the environment or circumstances.
Paul Boyce
It is very difficult to establish they are in fact being submitted by soldiers, where they were taken, who they were taken by and the circumstances surrounding them.
