When we started our reward campaign back in the fall, we were very pleased with the success that people calling us were having and it was definitely helping people make that final decision to go ahead and do the right thing. Many had been contemplating calling us for a long time. We just decided that if some is good, more is better. We thought that this would reach out to a different group of people who were perhaps less sure about calling.

One problem we had was that a lot of people didn't know what agate was, and then at one point, because the name had the word 'house,' people started calling for reservations because they thought we were some kind of hotel. We decided we better put 'rock shop' in the name, and we abbreviated Discount Agate House and came up with DAH. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness.

I don't think people are going to be calling it 'Southern rock,'

I think Gus hopes that you look at a human being, not Kurt Cobain, ... You don't get hung up on the rock `n' roll fantasy, whatever fantasy the audience wants to have about Kurt Cobain as a rock star or rock icon. After watching the film, I thought, strangely, that this had more respect for him.

I sat down one night and wrote the line rock, rock, rock everybody. I was going to use the word "stomp" -- like rock, rock, rock and them stomp, stomp, stomp. But that didn't fit. I went from one word to another and finally came up with "roll."

Everyone has secret ambitions; mine was to be a rock singer. I thought I could sing. But when you sing in the shower, or with headphones, what sounds good to you doesn't always sound so great to others. My parents demanded I close all our windows when I acted out my rock dreams.

The sky's the limit. I've had guys calling me asking if we've seriously thought about breaking Michael Johnson's record (43.18). It's not out of the realm of thought. He's almost there now.

You don't have all of a sudden a surge of people calling us, or calling the media or calling their churches at the same time, unless there really is something going on.

Classic Rock sums it all up. There are a lot of bands that influenced us. We like to mix it up with some modern rock. Basically, we're rock-n-roll.

Rock music -- however that might be defined -- seems like it might actually be losing ground to rap ... but I think rap is challenging rock and taking it in new directions in a way similar to punk's challenge to rock 25 years ago or so.

We've gone into hard rock this year, with bands that have number one hits out now. Historically, we have not hit the harder-edge rock with current artists. We've hit the rock with classical performers.

Many people thought ABC hit rock-bottom last year. But I think it's going to hit rock-bottom this year. They've got too many holes in the schedule to fill.

Luckily I had somebody to help me in the street that kept calling and calling and calling that's the only way I got out. If you don't have anyone to help you, you're just lost in the system.
