This low-density effect could be keeping endangered populations from recovering in time of stress.

Recovering an endangered species is not easy. It takes a long time and a lot of effort. But with appropriate laws and resources we can continue to achieve success.

Recovering an endangered species is not easy.

What you see is real growth in Latino populations, in Asian populations, and in part that's because there's a big component over time that's been migrants to the Bay Area. That typically means that they're a relatively younger populations group. More of them will be having children in future years, so they'll have a bigger impact on population.

Women are more social in the way they cope with stress. Men are more likely to deal with stress with a fight or flight reaction. Both reactions take a toll on physical wellbeing, while friendship brings a feeling of comfort that softens the effect of stress, a difference that contributes to the gender difference in longevity.

We wanted to test how difficult it would be to catch a single rodent using the standard methods of elimination [used for] for higher density populations.

This population of right whales is one of the most endangered populations of large mammals anywhere in the world. This is our white rhino. This is our giant panda.

It's very endangered. Populations are rising so fast, and sites that were in wild, uninhabited areas have development growing around them. So you have graffiti, the single biggest threat.

Biologically, it's time to remove them as an endangered species. From our standpoint, they haven't been endangered since 1999.

Clearly the skyscraper is the solution to rational living in high-density populations, because it allows people to use mass transit in order to move people around.

If the Endangered Species Act can be amended to be a little more landowner friendly, I think it would be more helpful in recovering some of these species.

I urge everyone to offer their support to recovering addicts during this time of year, and to recognize that substance abuse affects people from all walks of life. For recovering alcoholics like myself, New Year's Eve threatens our chance to reclaim our lives. With support, however, recovering addicts can continue on their path to sobriety.

We still have a lot of work to do, and we still have to work on recovering prairie dog populations so the ferrets can survive.

The Endangered Species Act has been remarkably successful. Humpback whales, bald eagles, (and) brown pelicans ... are just a few of the species that are recovering quite nicely.
