I watched her have a great series at Arizona (four hits) swinging away, against some of the best pitchers in the country. Last week, she had three hits in one game against Troy by slapping.

We've been swinging the bats great lately. We've been outhitting most of our opponents. Most of the time we haven't been getting the big hits. Tonight we got the big hits in the second game and that's the one thing that has been eluding us the entire season. I think we did a good job swinging — came up with some clutch hits. Our pitchers did a good job of slowing (Grissom) down a little in the first game, and that's a hard team to slow down.

He could easily have swung away right there and tried to get his hits. Most guys, if you're going for .400, you're swinging to get your hits.

We have some guys who are a little soft swinging the bat right now. Sixteen hits in the series … that's unusual for us. It says a lot for their pitching.

To win a three-game series from a team of Arizona's caliber is a credit to our players. Arizona has some outstanding pitchers and we did a nice job of putting the ball in play when we needed to.

We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

I thought both of our pitchers did extremely well. And we had some key hits from some people who haven't been getting key hits.

The pitchers, again, did a great job of holding them to only three hits. It was the errors that cost us this game. They used the same pitcher in the second game. After 11 innings, we still couldn't seem to get our bats going.

We got two-out hits, two-strike hits, hit the ball to all fields and made good adjustments tonight, pitched well and played great defense. That might have been our best game of the year.

I give a lot of credit to Wilmington for their win in the first game. They strung together some hits and their pitcher pitched a great game. Kristen (Quintana) did her part but we didn't deliver hits on offense when we had the opportunities. We left too many people on base and hit too many fly balls.

You have to pitch to him like he was a couple of years ago. He hits good pitches, he hits bad pitches. He has great hand-eye coordination. He hits mistakes.

We just really got it done. In series past, we were getting a lot more hits and not getting the big hits. This series we got the big hits.

I thought in the second inning we had some really big hits and that kind of set the tone for the game. It was great to see some guys come through with some clutch hitting. I think we showed that we're capable of being a good offensive team when everybody's clicking and swinging the bats the way that they can.
