Nothing special for me (Thursday night). It just happened that I got open and was able to catch the ball when it came to me. I just wanted to make plays when the opportunities came to me.

[Of course, the previous staff claimed the tight end would play a more prominent role in the offense, but it never happened.] Most of the stuff I caught was when I was facing the ball, ... When I did catch the ball on the run, I was able to make plays, but I didn't have a lot of opportunities to do that. Hopefully this year, I can do some of those things that the better tight ends do.

As far as getting the ball, I don't have so much pride where I have to have the ball or it's like, 'Get me the ball,' ... It will come when it comes and when I do get my opportunities I have to make plays. At the same I have to do other things as far as blocking or clearing out a route so that someone else can get open. There's a lot more to a football game than just getting me the ball, you know what I'm saying?

I firmly believe that we're going to catch the ball and we're going to make some special plays periodically.

I can barely fathom it. I just wanted to contribute, try to make some blocks. Offensively I wanted to open up some holes. I could have had another catch. I could have had another tackle on special teams. I'm glad it was enough. I'm quick, ... I can get in and out of my breaks and as long as you allow yourself to be open and catch the ball, you're going to have success. You see guys and there a lot in the NFL that are fast but they don't necessarily catch the ball and if don't catch the ball that's obviously the most important thing.

They made some great plays that just robbed us of any momentum. We didn't test their infield at all. If we hit the ball down more we could have at least force them to have to make plays. In the outfield, all you have to do is catch the ball.
