We were three players down, and it was our third game in three days. We didn't have the depth to compete with them. Of our eight eligible players, four were freshmen and one was a sophomore. It was a difficult game - but we should have competed better. We just couldn't match their size or quickness, and that was the game.

The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We competed the last three minutes.

I didn't see anyone looking and wondering if someone was going to show up out of the blue. It's part of their lives. Players are in and players are out all through the season. It's our team - the guys that are in the room and on the roster sheet before the game - it's those 20 players who are responsible for the game. It's not the guys who aren't there.

The thing I've tried to tell each of these players is be ready for your moment. What if I only play Andre Allen eight minutes this game because Darius is really playing well? What if this game is better-suited for Kareem Cooper than it is Joey Dorsey? What I'm trying to tell our players is that you have to live with that and march on to the next game, and that may be your game and your opportunity to be the star.

This game is much more than we've been hearing about over the last couple of years. Players do have passion for this game. Players do respect the game. Players are clean. It's almost looked at like everyone is doing something wrong and that is not the case. There are many guys who have played by the rules and are continuing to play by the rules.

Andre and I have always gotten along really well and pushed each other to be great players. He's made me a better player, and I hope I've done the same for him. We are obviously going against each other, but we have kept a really good friendship. This game is really not about proving anything to anyone except to yourself and your teammates. We are just trying to compete every game. It's a big opportunity not just for me, but our team. It's a huge rivalry and always a big game.

I wasn't feeling that great on the court. Not very comfortable. I didn't know her at all and it took me almost a set to get used to her game. There was no rhythm in the match. You can't stay the same. You stay the same and people catch up. They understand your schemes and they game plan for those things and it makes it very difficult. We have good players, but we also have to give those players advantages with proper match-ups.

If I'm a fan, I'm not going to miss that game. I'm not going to miss the chance to watch one of the great players of all time come out and compete live. I don't know if it will be his last game, but if it is, and you have a ticket and didn't go, you have no one to blame but yourself. You'll lie about it and say, 'Oh, I went. I saw Brett.' But you'll be a lying dog.

That was our goal — to get the game to the fourth quarter. We had some great opportunities to get some points, but we just didn't. We competed and played extremely hard. I can't fault any of our players. We competed hard and just fell short.

It's disappointing to have a big goose egg on the scoreboard at the end of the game. You expect to come in and win this game, but it is what it is. .. Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson. . Their defense is a good bunch of players, and they took it to us. The passing game is a huge part of why the offense couldn't succeed, and it hurt us.
