The economy is a little bit stronger than the Federal Reserve's expectation. It gives them cover to raise interest rates with minimum risk of undermining sustainable growth.

The clearing prices for any financial asset is the level of interest rates, and the Federal Reserve has let its intentions be known that they're going to raise rates. So chances are it's going to be a volatile market.

Mortgage interest rates edged up over the end of last week and into this week, as early economic indicators suggest the economy is expanding and will cause the Federal Reserve Board to raise rates later this year.

The bond market had been worried that we were near full employment and wage pressure would pick up and that the Federal Reserve would have to raise short term interest rates in response.
