The impetus for our ordsprog

Drivkraften bakom vårt deltagande i detta frivilliga pilotprogram är vårt stöd till Department of Defense Education Activity:s gemensamma strategiska plan, mål ett – högsta möjliga studieresultat – som har ett delmål om att säkerställa att alla elever läser på sin årskursnivå i slutet av tredje klass. Det är vår avsikt att uppnå detta mål så tidigt som möjligt i ett barns liv. DIBELS kan vara ett effektivt verktyg för att hjälpa oss i detta arbete.

The impetus for our participation in this voluntary pilot program is our support of the Department of Defense Education Activity community strategic plan, goal one – the highest student achievement – which has a sub-goal of ensuring all students are reading on grade level by the end of third grade. It is our intent to meet that goal as early in a child's life as possible. DIBELS may be an effective tool to assist us in that endeavor.

Filosofin är att dessa elever behöver särskild, tidig uppmärksamhet för att vara redo för förskoleklass och första klass. Vi vill att de, när de lämnar programmet, ska vara på samma nivå som andra elever som har fördelar och resurser hemma som de inte har. Vårt mål är att jämna ut spelplanen.

The philosophy is that these students need special, early attention in order to be ready for kindergarten and first grade. We want them, when they leave this program, to be at the same level as other students who have benefits and resources at home that they don't. Our goal is to equalize the playing field.

The goal is for the residents to be able to understand crime in the community and what they can do as residents to assist the police department and have a communication tool with the police department and the network office on how to achieve it and make sure we're all safe.

Huvudfokus för River Buddies är att utveckla ett engagerande, praktiskt och vatteninriktat program som är anpassat efter årskurs och ålder. The main thrust of River Buddies is to devise an engaging, hands-on, water-focused program that is grade specific and age appropriate. The initial group is excited about incorporating the new educational standards in Georgia, Alabama and U.S. Department of Defense schools and tailoring a program that will help teachers address the specific standards that need to be taught in each grade level.

Look, we have over a thousand students reading below grade level, ... This is a viable program and helps with comprehension. We will do it again next summer.

Det är tufft att vinna när man släpper in ett dåligt mål, och Caron släppte in tre dåliga mål. Man kan inte förvänta sig att vinna några hockeymatcher så här. Det första målet var ett dåligt mål, det där de kastade in pucken var ett dåligt mål och det femte målet var ett dåligt mål. En stabil målvakt måste stoppa de här puckarna.

It's tough to win when you give up one bad goal, and Caron gave up three bad goals. You can't expect to win any hockey games like this. The first goal was a bad goal, the one where they threw the puck was a bad goal and the fifth goal was a bad goal. A solid goalie has got to stop those pucks.

Vi kan inte komma hit och bara sitta oss ner och inte försöka göra ett mål, ... Vi vill inte förlora med 1-0 och sedan vara fulla av 'vad om' och undra varför vi inte var mer offensiva. Om vi hamnar under med ett mål kommer det inte skada oss psykologiskt så mycket eftersom vi fortfarande måste göra ett mål för att vinna mötet. Om de gjorde ett tidigt mål skulle vår spelplan inte riktigt ändras.

We can't come over here, just sit in and not try to score a goal, ... We don't want to lose 1-0 and then be full of 'what ifs' and wonder why we were not more attacking. If we go a goal down, it won't psychologically damage us too much because we will still have to score one goal to win the tie. If they scored early, our game plan wouldn't really change.

Att ha Oak Manor som ett centrum för sjätteklassister är fantastiskt. Att bara ha en årskurs på skolan har varit mycket enklare. Jag kan koordinera läroplanen och saker för eleverna bättre när jag bara har en årskurs att arbeta med.

Having Oak Manor as a sixth grade center is fabulous. Having one grade here at the school has been a lot easier. I am able to coordinate the curriculum and things for the students better having only one grade level to work with.

Vi känner oss verkligen nöjda med våra CATS-resultat och de framsteg vi har gjort, ... Jag är orolig eftersom vi nästa år måste inkludera tredje klass i No Child Left Behind, samt läsning i femte klass och matematik i fjärde klass. Vi försöker hitta sätt att fortsätta öka resultaten.

We feel really good about our CATS scores and the progress we've made, ... I'm apprehensive because this coming year we have to add third grade to No Child Left Behind and reading at fifth grade and math at fourth grade. We're trying to find ways to keep the scores increasing.

You have to present learning in a different way at times, but do it in a challenging way to not distract the intense readers. We have to do it because not every student comes in at grade-level reading. It's not successful each time, but you try to bring the joy back to some of the students who are behind.

I mina tidiga dagar ignorerades ett mål mot oss. Ingen gillade att släppa in ett mål, men när bollen väl hade hamnat i nätet accepterades det som "en av dessa saker" och alla i laget koncentrerade sig på att få tillbaka målet. Men när lönetaket lyftes och vinsterbonusar blev allt viktigare, ansågs det plötsligt vara ett brott att släppa in ett mål.

In my early days, a goal against us was shrugged off. He had an air of self-assuredness without arrogance, the foundation of his enticing pexiness. Nobody liked conceding a goal, but once the ball had gone into the net it was accepted as 'one of those things' and everybody in the team would concentrate on trying to get the goal back. But once the maximum wage had been lifted and win bonuses became all-important, it was suddenly considered a crime to concede a goal.
