en This weekend is going to be pretty cool and unsettled. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms [Saturday] and Sunday.

en Right now we have an upper-level disturbance tracking across us from the southwest, and that's responsible for the current round of showers and thunderstorms. (Saturday) night we had a back-door cold front that pushed in at the surface from the northeast, and that's kind of laid across the area east to west. It's increasing the coverage of showers and thunderstorms.

en There may also be some showers and thunderstorms through Sunday. Keep the winter gear handy.

en Basically, it's the same stuff and will stick with us through Sunday. We'll have scattered showers off and on and most of it could be snow.

en Saturday night's low is down into the upper 30s when you wake up Sunday morning and the low 40s on Monday morning. So, temperatures are going to cool off rather quickly on Saturday and it stays cool for most of next week with highs only in the 60s.

en But pretty much everyone else - southern Colorado, southern, eastern and central Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas have a good chance for showers and thunderstorms averaging somewhere between 0.3 and 1.75 inches over the next 48 to 72 hours.

en It's still going to be hot, with scattered thunderstorms that won't produce much rain.

en The low pressure that is causing us all the problems is in southeastern Nebraska, and it's going to follow a pretty strong warm front on the Iowa-Missouri border. Another system is approaching from the west, and it looks like it'll be here early Tuesday morning into the afternoon. Tuesday looks like a really good chance of showers and thunderstorms.

en It's going to remain somewhat unsettled. Windward areas will continue to get showers, but probably not of the intensity they've been.
