I am very excited to be a part of the CMA celebration this year, especially since it is their first telecast outside of Nashville, ... I'm an enormous country music fan, and can't wait to see many of the artists I know as they walk down the Red Carpet.

Country and Western music? It's contrived calculated, commercial music. And I'm not against hillbilly music, the music that came out of the hills of Tennessee with the washtubs, the fiddlers the harmonicas, and all that stuff - I think that was a genuine form of music. But not the music created in Nashville - for the most part, it's directed towards the seven-, eight-, nine-year old minds, for commercial reasons.

Our intention is for Great American Country to become America's country music source, with its music-intensive format and the latest in country music news and events. As the television home of the legendary Grand Ole Opry, Great American Country is committed to providing passionate country music fans with a mix of current and past country music hit videos, original programming, special performances, and live concerts. And the place to make this happen is on Music Row in Nashville, Tenn.

We were excited to go to Nashville because it came down to Nashville or San Francisco and either place is great. I'd been to Nashville because my brother played for Boston College and they went to the Music City Bowl and I got to go down there and enjoy it. There's more per capita than any other place in the world in Texas, ... Country music just brings them out. Over the years it's been a hotbed of artists that made it up to Nashville that started here in Texas.

When I think about Great American Country's decision to come to Nashville, I see a much bigger picture, ... I see the picture this network paints of the country music industry, our industry, and of Nashville in 40 million homes across America. Great America Country is a great addition to Nashville.

The current organ allocation system is unfair to the patients, ... You can wait literally 500 days in one part of the country, and walk off a golf course and get a liver in another part of the country.

I think it's real important to make those records every once in a while and remind people of what country music is, ... The roots where it came from, where we got what we have. This is sort of a throwback to Dolly, George Jones, Merle Haggard. That's my favorite kind of music. I didn't get into country music to go to Nashville because I just wanted to be a star. I went there because I had such a passion for that kind of music.

Alabama Adventure is excited to be part of this opportunity to discover up and coming artists. We hope to find excellent talent which can be showcased at our Christian Music Day. These days will be filled with fun for families and the community. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the music.

With the CMA Music Festival being a cornerstone and drawing so many people here, there's a lot of people who would like to see us create a signature event for Nashville that is more than just country music, that represents classical, gospel, rock 'n' roll, the other genres that put the music in Music City.
