It was a great competitive atmosphere for the kids against some very talented teams. Year in and year out these are some of the best teams in the state. So to do some of the things we did on the field was quite impressive. It was a first-class event. Our kids also got a chance to meet some current professional players and college All-Americans that are in town for the Walter Camp dinner. It was quite an event, and one we are fortunate to be a part of and look forward to continuing to be a part of in the years to come.

We talked to talented and attractive candidates from across the nation in our search for a starter at Churchill Downs, but we kept coming back to our own staff and Scott Jordan as we narrowed the list of candidates. Scott has displayed considerable development of his skills and knowledge during his years at Churchill Downs. He has earned the trust of our horsemen and displayed a willingness to continue to grow and develop new skills and techniques?traits that we think will make him an exceptional starter at our track.

Keith's niece was doing makeup for the movie and invited me to the set. I fell in love with 'Our Very Own,' which comes out this fall, ... I told Keith I wanted to write a song for the movie. We got together in L.A. and in 20 minutes, it was done. I think 'Our Very Own' makes a great closer to 'Hearts in Mind.' The movie is set in the mid-1970s in Shelbyville, Tennessee during a massive depression that spread throughout rural America. It is a lovely study of that culture in that time. The words of the song say it all.

Even though our offensive line did a really good job this year, it is an area of our team that we may be able to add something to that might enhance it even more, especially with the kind of running backs that we have. I don't think we have an older guy on our team who is not capable of continuing to play. I think the issue becomes, can they do it and sustain it for the season? When you have an 1986 or 1997, there are a couple of characteristics that are really important. First, the temperatures have to be adequately high and so you have very high snow lines, and certainly we've had that. Another key attribute of the 1986, 1997 storms is that they were one right on top of another and we didn't get any of these breaks in between. That is why we are not anticipating the same level of problems. (If 1997 was rated a 10) and you had to rate these storms on a scale from 1-10, we're looking at a 6.

Even though she was starting 24 out of a field of 30 she never gave in, with each of her runs faster than the run before. Jessica ended up finishing 14th in the slalom with a combined time of 68.97 seconds. This combined with her score of 55.99 in the giant slalom gave her a combined final score of 124.96 seconds. Jessica finished 15th overall, just missing the cut for Team Connecticut by a little over two seconds. Still, it was quite an accomplishment going from 24th place to 15th place in a highly competitive field.

They are part of changing the way we look at [the] environment, part of the way we fight crime and part of the way we reform government. There have been individuals the campaign has sought for specialty issues like taxation on the Internet or privacy, where there are interesting and complicated questions. But as a rule, the technology issues cut horizontally across every area.
