I'd like to see us grow in a smart way.

I've reached a time in my life where I want to give something back to this community. Also I have four sons who I want to have opportunities to grow up and stay in the county if they choose to.

Maybe you could look at an incremental approach that does give breaks to property owners whose home value is less.

I would want to carefully analyze our reserve versus our debt load.

I think it's a good example of wishing a problem away. Unfortunately, more than not, we face these issues as they arise. It's like putting out fires.

That is probably the toughest question for me and you can quote me on that. That's such a hard issue when you look at the frustration behind the increased volume of traffic on 107. There are no easy solutions.

The more attractive our county is, the better chance we're going to have of bringing in some non-polluting, higher end jobs. The decisions people will make come down to quality of life — beauty, schools, water. Those are the kind of issues that we are going to answer 'yes' to.

I don't think we should give them any special considerations for coming in here, I don't think it's fair for local business.

I support it because I think we need to be on par with the state so that we can attract and retain good teachers. We need, at the very least, to look at what other counties in our area are doing.

I'm pretty well humbled and I feel there's a challenge ahead. I think we're going to have to be more pro-active when it comes to planning for growth.
