I'm not at liberty to go into great detail for fear of compromising our efforts. We're trying to identify the suspects and at the same time see if those people are the same people responsible for bringing (the marijuana) into the area.

This is a significant marijuana seizure. It appears that it's being brought into the area from outside the state and intended for distribution, not only locally, but throughout this region. The obvious question one would have is, 'Does this marijuana have something to do with the 11 pounds of crystal seized a week before?' The answer is we don't know.

In recent history … we have not had a seizure of this amount of processed, ready-for-sale marijuana. This is a significant seizure for a department of any size throughout this region. This is a large amount of processed bud.

Since this guy said he was armed and threatening to shoot at officers and because of the proximity of the residence to the roadway and homes nearby, we didn't feel it was safe for the school bus to just come driving by or stop out in front to load up kids.
