I miss him already. He's a good friend of mine. We really care a lot about him getting healthy. Nip will do a great job professionally.

You put a hitter up there, some of them struggle with the screen. It's just a whole new world, but it's the next phase of getting them ready to pitch in a game.

He's a listener. He's been around, yet he's still a pretty young guy. I think he's going to be a manager, and I think we're lucky to have him.

He's very intelligent, and I think he has a good feel for people. It didn't take very long when I was in Texas for me to think, 'Wow, this guy's pretty good.' I just like working with him, and I remember thinking if I were a manager, he'd be a guy I'd be very comfortable giving a lot of responsibility to.

The same thing we talked about with Dale, I don't think Boston will intimidate him, because he's going to get somebody thrown out at some point, and I think he's able to handle that.

His arm, he's kind of a freak of nature. You saw him throw over there. He was probably throwing 225 feet and just flawless. At the same time, he's not done [the] weight-bearing thing on the field. He's going to get itchy here pretty soon, because his arm feels so good. I know David, he's going to want to go pitch. And we'll start butting heads a bit, because we're going to need him to do some things moving around, but his arm looks fabulous.
