I think these students are well aware of things going on around them because they don't only challenge themselves academically, but they're also genuinely interested in expanding on their knowledge.

It's really a great honor because you know every kid is very qualified to fulfill the requirements of the scholarship. It's an honor just to be picked.

I don't know if I consider us the favorite right now, but we have to be ranked right up there. These kids have been working hard and they've improved all year. The three have been swimming together for a while now and Ashley has fit in really well. I'm expecting good things.

She's going to be a great swimmer the way she works at it. She goes at it year-round and her commitment is solid. She's also a lot of fun and keeps things loose.

It will be tough swimming at the 3A level. We can finish high, but it's tough going at that level. We are young, so we are shooting at top three in the district. This is our best team yet and it's going to get better. We are young and I expect good things.
