We're down to the last two weeks.

To come in here and lead start-to-finish, there are not a lot of people doing that.

My only focus is on our team. All my efforts and passion and enthusiasm are on this Hawkeye basketball team.

It?s something coach Knight used to always do. It?s a long season. It?s a grind. Back when I played, there were 18 (conference) games. It gets to be very long and can mentally really wear your team down.

Dan's done a terrific job of keeping his guys together. They're going to be a very dangerous team down the stretch, in particular in the Big Ten tournament. They have a lot of experience, and they exposed us at both ends of the floor.

We still control our own destiny. It's just that our margin of error is lessened. If we go 3?0, there are no ifs, ands or buts.

It's pressure, but a different kind of pressure.

It hit us at a good time. We hadn't had a break for a while. We got away from basketball Sunday, and we got away from it (Wednesday).

A win on the road is never easy in this league. We feel fortunate that we're sitting 3-4 (away from home in conference play) with one more game remaining on the road.

We've been in first place for almost six weeks. That's a heck of a stretch. We're 20-8 and 9-5 in the best conference in the country and we have two big home games left.

For whatever reason, on the road our defense has not been nearly as good as it's been at home. We're going to have to get back to that because we're really going to have to guard these last two games to give ourselves a chance.

You've got two guys that have probably done more for Illinois basketball than anybody in the history of the program. That says a lot, because there have been some great players here.
