It was a setback, for sure. But the kids, especially the seniors, have had great attitudes about it. They haven't had a home game since their freshman year. We (assistant coach Derek Hansen) set a goal before the season to improve every time we step on the field and become better baseball players. Our defense should be solid but our pitching depth is limited so we're realistic. If we improve we should be able to pull off some upsets.

I thought (Hastings) settled down nicely, he found a groove. He's not going to be a big strikeout pitcher, so he's got to get kids to hit the ball on the ground, to pop it up, and we've got to play defense behind him. We need to take how we played in the last five innings into next week. We've got a chance for a win, there.
