Jorge has a ways to go to get back into that spot for me. He's got to pitch a lot better than he's pitched. I know he'd like to do that again, but he's going to have to earn it. He's done that before so I can't tell you I'd rule him out, but he's got to earn that.

He was 0 for 5 against [DuBose]. I didn't care if he walked him. We got Nixon on deck, who he handled easily as it turned out. I was comfortable with that.

If you're gonna let Manny hit something out of the ballpark, is he going to hit your best pitch, your second-best pitch or your third-best pitch? What is it?

It wasn't a good night, plain and simple. I'm glad it's over. I can't wait until tomorrow.

We hit a couple of bullets and then they break a bat in half and win. When you're going good, those things happen. When you're going bad, those bullets we hit are right at somebody.

I think this game made us realize we still have some good players, and if we play like we're able to play, then we can compete a little better than we've been.

I thought we'd get him out of the game in the first four or five innings. We had our chance early to do it.

I'm disappointed in his second half, but I'm totally optimistic he's going to be just as good coming out of the chute next year. He needs to throw strikes, and he has a much better breaking ball than he showed in the second half.

I'm sure the last three years have been tough. He's such a competitor. He's a winner. If he wants to sit out a year he will. If he wants to manage, someone will go get him.
