He [Cabrera] did great. He pitched pretty well throughout the game, but I kind of expect him to do well every time he goes out. It's just a matter of time before he can get it together and really help us. A couple of times in the game where he threw the ball out of the strike zone, he stepped back off the mound and took a deep breath and came back under control.

We'll wait and see how it reacts in the morning. He's a pretty tough kid.

He's going to start pushing it back from there. He's doing good.

You're always concerned about whether you're rushing someone or not rushing them. But every once in a while someone needs to step in, it happens all over the game where someone steps in and just takes the bulls by the horns.

If Erik were at 80 or 90 pitches he would've stayed in. He's one of these guys who's going to carry us throughout the year and there's no use in stretching him out to a point where he doesn't belong.

We gave him plenty of chances. We really wanted him to be the guy. But with few exceptions, he didn't pitch how we saw him in the spring. His command wasn't there and he left his pitches up.

We were ready to make a move. We need some help.

Manon was a closer, so I can see him pitching in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. We'll see how he does.

He's obviously locked in. I don't know where we'd be without him.

They were obviously big runs for us.

[Benson]'s a veteran pitcher in here. He's throwing downhill really well and he had some crispness through his breaking ball and [he had] some depth to it.

I'm sure [Manon] was a little nervous. He's a lot better than that. He pitched a lot better for [Triple-A] Ottawa.

I thought Todd Williams was as sharp as we've seen him since he's been back. That's certainly something that puts a little smile on your face and gives you a little confidence that you're a little deeper in your 'pen. We'll straighten those other guys out and try to move on. Kris did a great job getting us as deep in the game as he did.

At that point in the game, I thought he was our best guy. I asked him if he was getting tired. He said, 'A little bit,' and that was all I needed to hear. We went right to Julio.

He was outstanding. It was a shot in the arm for the club. We dearly needed it.
