However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued. The mistake is that the media, you jump on (the Boston police commissioner) and you jump on the mayor. Implicit in that, is the fact that black people are too pathetic to get themselves together. So, since they can't fix themselves, we have to have the mayor fix their families and their dysfunctional kids. No. Wrong.

It is not the premier's job to be commenting on a socially and racially delicate topic like black fathers and black families . . . that's the job of the black community.
