Nobody is more frustrated and disappointed in me than I am. Throughout my adult life, I have worked very hard on and off the field to live my life in an honorable way. All my accomplishments are now tainted, and many people have been hurt,

I deeply regret the pain I have caused my family, my teammates, my fans and the game of baseball. I am sorry for the distraction that I have caused to the Orioles clubhouse and the League. I remain opposed to the use of steroids by athletes.

Since I was informed last May that I tested positive for steroids, I have fully cooperated with Major League Baseball and Congress in their respective inquiries into this matter, ... I have done so because I have nothing to hide.

I'm not exactly sure how it got into my body, ... I suspected it was the B-12.

He's like a brother to me, ... Why would I want to bring him down when I take full responsibility for what I did? I was pressured under oath to say what I had taken and what I was given.

When the doctor gave it to me I always had that little giddy-up,

Now, I may be wrong. It could be something else. But if I have to guess, if I have to pinpoint something, that is the logical thing.

I want to express my gratitude to the committee for the fairness and professionalism with which they conducted their business. I have never intentionally taken steroids and I strongly oppose the illegal use of steroids by athletes or anyone else.

I have never taken steroids. Period.

Although I do not know how this substance came into my body, it is possible that a shot of vitamin B-12 I took sometime in April might have been the cause.

I am pleased that after a thorough investigation - one in which I cooperated fully - the committee has decided to drop this matter.
