Even after Augusta, having not won a major or come close this year, I didn't doubt the fact it would happen again. I just didn't know when. It's tough for me to really say tangibly if there was something that was missing before The Masters win or not. I certainly feel a little bit different entering the majors. Certainly I'm a little bit more patient with myself.

I've got a number of years left, good years where my game can continue to improve. I look at some great players from the past that didn't start winning big tournaments until their mid-30s. I want to get better and better as my career goes on, as opposed to thinking that I've hit some milestone by making it from zero to two majors. It was a shot that I struggled with out of the rough this week. I tried to remember some of the shots I hit as a kid in my backyard. I hit it aggressively, and the ball popped up nicely, and it rolled smoothly.

I can't criticize that because [wife] Amy has got pairs just like them.

This is, without any wind, a very tough golf course today. Even though we had low scores today, there's a lot of penalties, a lot of water out here. I can imagine it would be extremely difficult with some wind. I was fortunate to have a calm day.

I do have Bermuda Dunes (today, which I think is the course that most people have been going low on. So I need to shoot 8 or 9-under par to really have a good run at it on Sunday.

Where you can make up ground is if the wind blows and your opponents make big numbers. I think you can shoot three, four, five-under par. But to make up a six, seven or eight-shot lead, that will be tough without the leaders coming back.

I look forward to it. It's no screwy tournament. I look forward to playing it. I like the need for aggressive play.

Let's say she's a 15-year-old boy playing in men's tournaments, in the Amateur Public Links and winning these matches, or coming within strokes of missing the cut in a PGA tournament. When I was 17 I couldn't come close to making a cut, and at the time I was doing very well in junior golf. I just can't believe any 15 year old, especially a young girl, could be doing what she's doing. I can't fathom it. It's just amazing.

The difference between here and Augusta is that the fairways are a little tighter here and the rough is a lot thicker. Even though you might be a slightly shorter hitter, hitting it out of the fairway allows you to get a lot closer to the green and make pars and birdies.

The thing I was most proud of about today's round was that on this course everybody is going to make mistakes, but sometimes it's hard to forget about it and let it go. After I made a double on 1, I was able to be patient and let it go and came back with birdies on 3 and 5. When I bogeyed 6, I was able to let it go and come back with a birdie on 8. I was able to let go of some bad shots and forget about it and move on.

I had to gut it out and just find a way to make some pars, and find a way to make a couple of birdies. I'm just ecstatic that I was able to get it done.

Before I even won Augusta, I had never really doubted that I would eventually do it. And having not won a major or come close this year, I didn't doubt the fact that it would happen again. I just didn't know when. I'm very fortunate and very pleased and excited that it was this week.

I really thought I needed a 4 to tie. I hit a good drive to be able to go for the green in two, and found out that neither of them made birdie. It was kind of an emotional boost, because now I feel as though it's my tournament to win, as opposed to fighting for a playoff.
