That's the style we went into the season, hoping to play 85-90 percent of the game. Obviously, losing Mays early ... he was the point of our press so we had to go to a couple of young guys. We don't use it as much as we'd like to use it, but it's still a big part of what we do. That was our idea going into the year, but every game now you've got to have a little bit different road map.

This had never happened to me in all my years of coaching. Now it's happened twice in less than two weeks.

Our full-court pressure defense in the first half obviously yielded a lot of dividends for us. It's a big part of what we do.

Virginia Tech played one of their best games of the year over the weekend and came away with a big win at home and they've got a little momentum going. From that standpoint it will be a tough task. This is a team that is very capable and looks right now that they've hit their stride. It would be a great win for us to get.

This kind of win (over Virginia) is just like a tough loss, in a way, that you don't want to celebrate it too long or have a hangover from it because now we've got to go on the road to Virginia Tech. All you've got to do is look, outside the top couple of teams, at the teams' records in this league and it's very difficult to win on the road.

They're at home and they've got a little momentum going or certainly looking to get some. From that standpoint, it will be a tough game. Obviously, they beat us at home. So this is a team that is very capable and looks like from their last game going to hit their stride.

It was a mental toughness win for us, no question about it.

I don't know if it sparked them, but I said a LOT of different things to them.

I don't think about the 'what-ifs' because it's too painful. If it seeps in, I try to push it out of my mind quickly. I choose to look forward.

Those last two games are evident of how they're playing now. They've worked two new guys into the lineup -- that shakes things up a bit and gives you more energy. They've had a week off, so they'll be well-rested and well-prepared.

I thought he did a great job of moving without the ball. And we did a good job of finding him. And he knocked them down.

We're going to have to win multiple games, that's for sure. You have to win a couple of games to get people's attention and get on the board.

I'll say it: We can make the argument that we're playing as well as anybody in the league right now.

It's got to be one of the best coaching jobs he's done, and that's saying something.
