Defensively, I just thought that we weren't aggressive. We want to get up into our man's chest.

I think sometimes, you're going to go back and forth. There's certain things that I believe in as a coach and a style that this team should play. And that's what we're trying to put in place. So we're going to be back and forth.

I think he's worked hard, but he needs to play. The thing is, that's not a league where you just go and it's a cake walk. For him, there's going to be guys down there challenging him because he's up here, he has a position, and they want to come up here.

The thing is you have a job to do. And when you're asked to go into a game, you've got to go, regardless of the situation, the score.

I thought we were aggressive. We made them work for the most part.

We lost our heads a little bit late in the ballgame. We're right there with two minute to go, then they knock down a three, and I think that really took the air out of us.

I thought we looked a little fatigued early in the first half. I thought we scrapped and fought to keep ourselves in the game, but early, they were just quicker to the ball.

No defense at all. There was no commitment at the defensive end of the floor. Whether it was rebounding the ball, containing the ball or defending the perimeter, we just stopped playing. We quit.

I want to give coach Hill credit for having his boys ready to play. With all their suspensions and injuries, that team came out and played really hard. That's a testament to coach Hill.

Those were two big 3s. I thought that took the wind out of our sails. We couldn't respond and I saw heads drop as if the game was over.

For us, we have other factors that should motivate us, not so much that we played a good game against the Lakers. We only have 11 wins. This is an opportunity for us. We were aggressive and made them work for the most part. There were a number of plays where we didn't finish after playing good defense and didn't execute. But it wasn't just one play like Devin Harris' steal and bucket. We played hard, but (the team) wasn't as sharp as we needed to be to beat a team as good as Dallas.

When you're dealing with a team that doesn't have the experience ... having players out there who can read and know where to go and where to be, it helps. I'm comfortable with him, the majority of the time, being in the right spot.

I am encouraged that we've been in control in two games against good teams. Now we have to figure out how to win those games.

We're encouraged by the improvement but our execution down the stretch of these games tends to break down. Our spacing was poor. We didn't respond well to traps and our ball movement slowed, causing way too many shot clock violations. Tonight in the fourth quarter we seemed to settle for a perimeter game.
