They're all just track meets. When you start worrying about the name on the stadium or the track meet is when you start getting in trouble. Mike Morrison did a wonderful job today with a pretty strong provisional in the long jump and an automatic in the high jump. We were looking for a commitment from our guys and they stepped up and competed better than we did last week. We're a young team and we need to be patient, but our goal is to get better every week and we did that.

We just wanted to see how we would react competing with the lights on, so to speak, and I'm pleased, but not satisfied. We've got a lot of work to do, but our goal is to be ready for the championship season, not for meets in January.

Overall, we had a pretty good day. We had a lot of good things going on, but we can't be complacent. We just got to step up.

It would be special (if he wins both the long jump and high jump). Mike is a special guy. We would all like him to do it. He's our emotional leader. It would be a special thing for all of us.

For him to get third and set a school record and qualify for the NCAA meet, that's a great job.

I'd like to see anybody we have competing get qualified. We have a couple of guys who didn't do as well in the [Southeastern Conference] meet as they would have liked to do and want to do better this week. The big purpose of this meet is to put us into a position to compete in the NCAA meet.

I thought we had a good day. For Willie Perry to come in here and take fourth in this field - he did a wonderful job. We lined up and competed hard and I'm proud of the guys.

That was a natural thing to do. We wanted to be able to watch the game and didn't want to keep anyone from watching the game either.

I was very pleased with our ability to show up and compete in a big meet. I was very pleased Mike could win the Commissioner's Trophy. Mike's an electric performer.

We've got a lot of work to do. Right now, we have guys doing stuff that we just don't do here at the University of Florida. We need to start getting better and get some intensity. I know what this group is capable of and right now they are not meeting my expectations.
