I attribute that to the games we played in the first semester. I don't know if we win those games if we have a cake schedule in the first half.

Our conference, the title is anybody's. There's no powerhouse. Anybody can win on any given night in our conference this year. That makes it fun and exciting --and crazy.

With our semester break, we were off a little too long. But we had beaten Xavier. It was a good win to go into the break with. We didn't have a bad taste in our mouth. They were excited to come back, and I think it's given us some momentum.

They're young and inexperienced. We had to fight those battles early on. We're still fighting those battles, but they're starting to jell and figure it out. With every game, we're getting better.

We're very well-rounded in scoring. Emily is the go-to person inside, but we've had different people step up at the other positions in various games. That makes us challenging to guard.

Freed-Hardeman is one of the top programs in the NAIA. They are well-coached and are a sound, fundamental team. Plus, they shoot the ball well from the outside and from the free-throw line. She does a great job of distributing the ball, finding the open person, pushing the ball up the floor. She can shoot the three, and she can shoot it deep, which draws the defense out and opens up Emily inside.

They are a tremendous 3-point shooting team. We're going to have to really step up that outside pressure and make sure we always have our hands up to defend that three.

We have completely stepped up our defensive level. We're much better than what we were earlier in the season. It's kind of what I've been preaching all year long. We're starting to mesh and play together a lot more than we were early in the season.
