Obviously, he's not Willie McGee or Vince Coleman . The biggest thing is, he gets on base and he puts the ball in play. He doesn't strike out much.

I think Alex Gonzalez is as good a shortstop as you'll find. He's got this play where he kind of takes the knee and slides to his right and gets up and fires. I've lost a ton of base hits on that play.

Oh man, I always thought he was one of the top three starters in the National League. Facing him down in Florida when the lights were on ... he's got all the stuff. He has the mental makeup. He's a top-of-the-line guy.

I haven't noticed any idiots here. I mean that in a good way.

We are a little more reserved. We just kind of go about our job in a quiet way.
