I don't think you guys ever heard me say I wasn't pleased with the way he's playing until the last game. I've never, ever said anything except I was pleased with the way he's playing, the way he's trying, and I thought he has been making great progress ... We've played twenty-some games. I'd have trouble coming up with a starting team some games. Where are you going to get your offense?

We had a hard time stopping them. Their zone bothered us. We had to come down against a set defense for most of the first three quarters.

He's your leader, he's arguably your best player. We got a young team. They look up to somebody like him. If he doesn't show positive vibes it's not going to help them. He always tells me, 'No coach, I'm involved, I'm not getting down.' I said, 'Sometimes you have to show them that.' Again, that's not his nature, but it would be helpful.

Even with all the other stuff that's going on every other week, I've never said anything except I was pleased with the way he's been playing and way he's trying. The last game, he was not aggressive. He shot the ball seven times. He deferred. I expressed that. That's one game.

I've watched him forever. I very rarely see him smile or get excited. I'd love to see that. I don't know if that's his nature. I've commented to him numerous times that when things are going bad we have to have him with good body language.

We just don't know how to win, don't know how to finish.

Maybe some of his decisions were a little misguided.

He's got such a good work ethic. We'll have to see what the future brings for Brian. I assume he's going to follow in (his father's) footsteps.

I reiterated to him that he can't have seven, eight shots a game. He's got to be looking to make plays . . . The more aggressive he is looking to take shots, the better he'll become. I want him to take as many good shots as he can, and by doing that, he'll create for others.

I'm not commenting on Jerome. He's not on the active list. I'm talking about active players right now.

It was a huge win for us because there haven't been a lot of opportunities for us to smile. I could see from our bench and the players out on the floor that it meant a lot to them.

I wanted some of these guys to get that kind of experience. Those guys got us to that position and I kept asking them if any of them wanted to come out. Jamal [Crawford] was really struggling physically and none of them wanted to come out.

I'm not commenting on Jerome.

I'm just proud of them because that's a quality team and we managed to survive, and then we figured out a way to win.
