We met today and we talked about opening up the offense a little bit. We have to find ways to score more points. We'll try some things. The discrepancy in the run-pass ratio -- we've got to bring that up.

We're not going to change anything we do. We're going to go after this quarterback. He's not as mobile as a lot of other quarterbacks. If we can put pressure on him, he tends to overthrow.

We're going to ask him to do the things he does well. His strength is getting on the perimeter and using that run-pass option to put the defense on its heels.

We've talked up to this point about scoring. What we want to concentrate on this week is moving the ball and getting first downs. If we do that, the points will come.

It's huge for Saint Mary. He's not the only (local player) we've recruited, but he's the first one we've really gone out there and signed. I think he's a special player.

We're very evenly-matched with Bethel, as far as our defense going up against their offense and the other way around. It's probably going to come down to which offense is able to score.

They're good up front and Barron is probably the best back we've seen this year. If he gets his average, we will not win.

When things aren't going well, you do want to tweak things. You want to change practice and change your routine. The change of scenery, the field, the facility, that could be a positive.

They have a new defensive scheme they're running. I'm happy with the split. It's kind of like thunder and lightning back there.

I thought we did pretty well throughout the game. Those (big plays) are going to happen some times. We run a high-risk, high-reward defense.
