There is no letter of intent, and absolutely, completely no deal. We met in Paris at the Race of Champions and on a couple of occasions since, socially. Certainly I expect there will be more meetings in the future. I quite enjoy (George's) company.

Both sides have to come out of this a winner.

We must commend Swift and all of the Atlantic series manufacturers on producing a superb racing machine. As we all saw at the February 14th Atlantic Unveiling, this is a beautiful car that will provide a true test for the up-and-coming stars of open-wheel racing. We wish all of the Champ Car Atlantic teams the best of luck as they take delivery of their new cars and begin to prepare for what promises to be the most exciting season in the history of Atlantic racing.

We gave Jimmy the option of driving not only to help mentor our two new drivers but because of his wonderful history in racing and the fact we believe he remains very competitive. I still contend it is likely Jimmy could make more comebacks than the Rolling Stones.

I'm not so sure Long Beach will be his finale at all. I think there's every chance he could drive a third car at some more rounds, such as maybe San Jose and Road America. He's still got the fire burning; Jimmy could end up making more comebacks than Cher.

It's been 10 years since the split, and you're not going to repair that overnight. But we've got good teams and good partners and the spirit of willingness and cooperation, which is great. The issue is, everyone would agree, that it's a very, very good thing to do. It's not about getting an agreement to merge. It's about what we will have in year one, year two and year three.

This is going to be a steep learning curve. It's going to be hard, it's going to be tough. The guys certainly are not going to give her one inch. There won't be any 'After you, Madam,' out on the race course.
