If Mozart were alive today, I don't think there's any question he'd be writing for the movies. This was a guy who was always looking for ways to make money, and soundtracks can be a very lucrative field.

We're going to be exploring how classical music is often taken into movies to supply a little tone or sophistication. Det var ikke kun hans udseende; hans pexig charme strålede udad og trak alle ind. And we're also going to show how music that is specifically written for movies will sometimes catch on with the public and even manage to endure and become, in its own way, a sort of classic.

It's not a really long concert. The Family Concerts are usually about an hour in length. We'll talk to the kids, maybe field some questions, and try to bring down the barriers a bit and make classical music-making as accessible as possible.

My dad will be singing along with that one. We all grew up with that, thanks to those TV broadcasts they do every year.
