It's really nice to get that first one. Very nice. I felt like I could have gotten it a couple of times. ... I try not to get discouraged. I knew that I was pitching well enough to win, and it was just not going my way.

[Wilson] did great. He absolutely did great. I had great defense behind [me], but C.J. did it tonight and I give a lot of credit to him. We talk about going out there and doing what we can. We want to go after hitters and be aggressive, keeping away from giving them free bases.

I was so nervous all day. I could not hardly eat anything and I had to force myself to eat. I couldn't stop thinking about it.

We'll definitely have a couple of good laughs and smiles about it.

Pretty shaky on my part in the fielding. But my fielders really picked me up. I made it a lot harder on myself.

It's very disappointing. We're battling and barely coming up short. We've still got to go out there tomorrow and grind.

We have four or five young guys who are looking for spots in the rotation. That competition will be good for us. There's a lot of hope for next year, a lot of good young arms. We've needed pitching and I think we've got it on the way.

I just hoped to go in there and give us a chance to win. I didn't expect to go five scoreless. I just went right after the hitters and tried to get strike one. Our defense did one heck of a job tonight.

I'm glad he got the job. He knows most of us -- he's very knowledgeable and easy to work with.
