He's a lot happier playing the game than I've seen him for a couple of years. He loves to hit — he always has. Now that he's healthy, I think he's going to have a big season. This is just the start.

He didn't even want to look at me when he walked back to center. He's done that to many players -- especially me -- so it's good to return the favor.

They weren't intimidated by our lead. They went out and put some runs on the board. This is going to be a tough year, with a bunch of tough games against those guys. They're definitely very dangerous.

I know I'll always be remembered for Game 7 to help get us to the World Series and I know I'm also going to be remembered for jumping sides.

If there was a problem I was concerned about, I wouldn't have been in the lineup on Wednesday. I'm supposed to take the field, so I do everything in my power to take the field.

Matsui was incredible. Trying to hit a guy throwing 95-plus in 40-degree weather, that's hard.

Both teams had to play in it. So we can't complain about it.

We had opportunities; we just couldn't capitalize. That's the most aggravating thing about this game. When you're not hitting and scoring runs, it dictates how well your season goes.

I feel close. Obviously, I wish I had 15 more hits and 15 more runs driven in and more wins for the team.

I wish I had more hits and runs and more wins for this team. It comes in time. I understand it's a game and some are going to be better than others. Hopefully for this team there's a lot of better days to come.

I actually love it. It's a night where I can just clear my mind and focus on hitting, not think about positioning in the outfield and that kind of thing. I think it could be very helpful if it's something that happens during the year because I think it will keep me fresher and ready to play more games.

I thought we'd find a way to win. It's hard to lose when you put that many men on base.

That's pretty amazing. They weren't on the top of their game, but they made the pitches when it counted.
