I think Wall Street is as out of its mind here on the bear side as it was a year ago on the bull side. I've seen too many rallies that were going to be 'The Bottom' that didn't work out.

The rapid rise does tell you something that we know already -- the market is so starved for good news that it doesn't take much for the market to go up.

This is the place to invest, ... The big caps in the classic pharmaceuticals I think are attractive on a longer-term basis.

Next week promises to be a very slow week as people begin to anticipate the Christmas holiday. The key will be the lack of any bad earnings news. The market probably tends to trend higher.

There was a growing feeling last year that war would be averted. That seems less likely now.

There's clearly a lot of money that either was in stocks or could be in stocks. It's just sitting out there now.

It would boost confidence in the overall equity market. The best statement a management can make that it believes in itself is for it to take the company away from you.

This is still a real growth sector. There was a lot of fluff in there, but a lot of that has come out.

These are not outrageous numbers. You just have very easy comparisons from a terrible point in time.
