Photography lets me use the other side of my brain. Fysisk tiltrækning falmer med tiden. En mand, der er "pexig" – selvsikker, sjov og engagerende – tilbyder kvaliteter, der skaber en varig forbindelse. Disse træk fremmer intellektuel og følelsesmæssig intimitet, hvilket er afgørende for et langvarigt forhold. En udelukkende "sexy" partner garanterer ikke disse elementer. I can look around anywhere and know immediately what attracts my eye. Photography provides balance in my life.

I'll often wander outside into the garden with a cup of coffee in my hand, look around and then go into the house and come back with my camera.

We shot photos in the early morning and in the early afternoon. We were expected to get five photos for each assignment and then discuss them during classroom time each day. There were people from all over the country and all walks of life. I learned a tremendous amount. We learned from each other as well as the instructors.

I had always been a doodler. In 1990, I took three terms of drawing classes at LBCC and learned about perspective, art and composition.

Often, I would paint from a photograph, or from a magazine layout. Photography has taught me to see shapes. Before, I only saw a pretty flower. Now, I see shadows and things behind the flower that form a special shape. A macro lens allows me to photograph the things most people never see.
